Meet your doula
Hi, I'm Annalee.
I was raised in Northern Virginia as the oldest sister amongst six children. I lived in Virginia, Idaho, Los Angeles, and Russia before finally settling in Utah. I currently live in Lehi, UT with my husband, two sons, and our two dogs.
I became a doula after the birth of my first son, Charlie, which ended in a c-section. His birth opened my eyes to the need for dedicated birth education, support, and community. I began my training soon after he was born and have spent the years since learning about birth, participating in various trainings, and working as a volunteer doula at the University of Utah hospital in addition to my work with my own clients.
After the birth of my second son, Abel, which ended in a hospital transfer and emergency c-section, I became deeply committed to the work of healing and integrating birth stories. I eventually became certified as a Birth Story Medicine practitioner. Understanding the living, breathing nature of our birth stories’ and their effects on the mind, body, and soul has impacted nearly every aspect of my work with my clients since.
Outside of birth, I love reading and writing. I studied English in college and enjoy digging into my own creative writing projects when I get the chance. I also love movies and television and live for nights (or days) in a movie theater. My deepest joys come from spending time with my family, baking and cooking meals for the people I love, walking our dogs, making playlists for all occasions, and listening to any and all podcasts.
